Started the day by driving into Lumberton, NC and playing some pickleball at the local highschool. They just have tennis courts so we had to improvise, but it worked well.
We hit the road about 10... Had lunch at mile marker 95's rest area... Kept driving and the further we went, the more we decided to make the push and get to Chincoteague a day early.
The Cheasapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel was way worth the price of admission! Who builds a bridge and then turns it in to a tunnel - twice?!?! Apparently Virginia cuz they've got three of the things!
But it was really cool travelling over and under the Cheaseapeake Bay.
Then we stopped at Walmart. There are no Walmarts on Chincoteague Island - we wanted to make sure we didn't need anything before we headed to the Island.
Finally pulled in to our site about 7:30pm. Tom heated up some lasagna and garlic bread, made a salad, fed everyone and crashed. Very excited to be here, though, and glad we made the push to get here so we'll have two full days on the Island before we move on.
